The final session of CBCA’s Leadership Arts program is the annual Board Fair. This event is an opportunity for Leadership Arts alumni to connect directly with diverse arts and culture organizations seeking potential volunteers and board members.

Again this year, the Board Fair will be entirely virtual to ensure as many organizations and graduates can take part.  Each cultural nonprofit will be assigned their own virtual breakout room. Attendees will select their top 3 organizations in advance and rotate through the virtual breakout rooms for small group or one-on-one conversations.

For Alumni

All past Leadership Arts alumni are encouraged to participate. Please let us know if you’re coming by Monday, May 10. You’ll be sent the list of cultural organizations after that and we ask that you submit your top three choices by Wednesday, May 12. Email rhenney@cbca.org with any questions.

For Organizations

The Board Fair is an opportunity for cultural nonprofit organizations of all sizes and types to meet Leadership Arts graduates and start the conversation about volunteer service and engagement. Organizations must register in advance in order to participate. Nonprofit registration closes on Wednesday, April 28. Contact Rachael Henney at rhenney@cbca.org with any questions.

We want all participating organizations to put their best foot forward. Check out this recorded webinar on Strategic Board Recruiting: Practical steps to cultivate engaged leaders led by Kate Kalstein Consulting from Wednesday, July 15, 2020:

In addition, here are some useful Board Fair Recruiting Resources. We encourage organizations to be ready with other opportunities for people to get involved, such as committee positions, pro bono services, advisory roles, volunteering, etc.
