2024 Legislative Recap for Arts & Culture:

  • Passed a $1.25 Million ongoing operating budget increase for our state arts agency, Colorado Creative Industries (CCI). This is CCI’s first operating budget increase in over a decade! Thanks to members of the Joint Budget Committee: Senator Bridges, Senator Zenzinger, Senator Kirkmeyer, Rep. Taggart, Rep. Bird and Rep. Sirota.
  • Passed HB24-1397 Creative Industries Cash Fund Transfer, which will allocate a one-time investment of $500,000 to CCI for the state-certified Creative District program.
  • Passed HB24-1295 Creative Industry Community Revitalization Incentives, sponsored by Rep. Titone, Rep. Herod, Senator Fenberg, and Senator Coleman, to support capital projects that leverage the arts and fuel creative placemaking. This tax credit will provide $50 Million over 5 years to help fund buildings that revitalize communities, spur economic development, provide housing, and advance creative workers.
  • Passed HB24-1358 Film Incentive Tax Credit, sponsored by Rep. Herod, Rep. Snyder, Senator Mullica and Senator Baisley.
