Copyright Claims Board with U.S. Copyright Office

Colorado Attorneys for the Arts (CAFTA) and the IP Section of the Colorado Bar Association are partnering with the U.S. Copyright Office to share information about the new Copyright Claims Board (CCB) with lawyers in Colorado. This free webinar is open to all copyright and IP attorneys, and attendees can receive 1 CLE credit for participating.

CCB is an alternative forum to federal court in order to resolve copyright disputes involving damages up to $30,000.  The CCB opened its doors in June 2022, and this webinar is designed to provide the foundation for bringing or responding to a claim before the CCB, including:

  • The purpose and features of the CCB;
  • The steps of a CCB proceeding;
  • Preparing a claim for the CCB;
  • Responding to a claim; and,
  • Resources supporting CCB participants.

The CCB is excited to work with volunteer lawyers for the arts organizations, like Colorado Attorneys for the Arts (CAFTA), to ensure that participants and potential participants have many options for seeking assistance with their copyright matters.
