Local Author Launches Writers Workshop With Colorado Arts Grant

Unlock Your Creative Potential with FREE Workshops in June

Colorado Springs, CO: This June, Trust Your Words, a weekly writing workshop that helps writers find their voice, is offering eight one-hour workshops every Saturday for free. The workshops take place at four libraries and over Zoom. (See below for times and locations.)

Founder, Marta Lane, designed this workshop with support from a Career Advancement Grant distributed by the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) and Colorado Creative Industries.

“So many writers and artists struggle alone through creative process, from developing story arcs or sharpening themes or just breaking through a creative block. As an uplifting creative entrepreneur and author herself, Marta Lane has the skills and energy to help others on their journey. CBCA is delighted to see Marta take what she learned in our Advancing Creatives Intensive and turn it into a beneficial workshop for fellow artists.” Meredith Badler, Deputy Director, Colorado Business Committee for the Arts.

Trust Your Words is a generative writing workshop. Thematic prompts paired with writing sprints help writers find their voice. Each workshop includes three readings, writing prompts inspired by those readings, writing time, and optional time to share. Single topics change every week and include themes such as Intuition, Trust, Dreams, Worth, and Success.

“These workshops are about learning how to trust yourself,” says Lane “but they’re also about having fun and building community.”
