Dia Del Nino, Denver Art Museum 2011

yesonscfd2For the last 28 years, the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) has been an essential element in the increasingly vibrant arts, science and cultural scene across the metro area as well as a huge boon to our regional economy. Today, an average of 14 million visitors a year gain access to a broad array of offerings and our metro region sees a $1.8 billion annual boost by generating jobs, tourism and audience spending.

The $54 million generated from a modest one penny sales tax on every ten dollar purchase allows 4 million students the opportunity to experience exciting educational and cultural programming at more than 300 diverse SCFD funded organizations. And, because of the SCFD, more than 100 FREE days are available at our regional institutions each year.

The SCFD boosts our region’s economy and provides a huge return on investment throughout the seven counties that support the district including Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson counties.

This is NOT A NEW TAX and voting YES on SCFD merely extends the modest sales tax already in place.

The district deserves your support and your YES vote on renewal because it’s just good business.
