CBCA Board of Directors is delighted to welcome our newest board member, Nancy Walsh! Nancy was officially voted on at the August 15 board meeting. Nancy is the Vice President of  Partnerships & Programs at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. We are excited for the energy and expertise she will bring to the organization. Nancy Walsh is Vice President of Partnerships and Programs at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, where she is responsible for the vision, creative direction, and oversight of a diverse array of innovative and engaging programs for all ages, as well as local and national partnerships that advance the Museum’s strategic plan.

Walsh joined the Museum in 2006 as lead educator on the development team for the award-winning exhibition Expedition Health. She was a driving force behind the successful opening and reprogramming of the Museum’s most recent expansion, the Morgridge Family Exploration Center. Before her appointment as vice president, Walsh served as director of museum partnerships and programs.

Walsh is passionate about the vibrancy of local communities as well as access to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). She has been the principal investigator on grants from the National Science Foundation, the Institute for Museum Services and others that have supported innovative programming in this area. She was a mayoral appointee on the Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs and as co-chair worked on the city’s new cultural plan, Imagine 2020. She currently serves as a member on the Creative Alliance Steering Committee. Walsh is a proud alumnus of Leadership Denver.

Prior to joining the Museum, Walsh served as director of education at the Virginia Aquarium. She has also served as associate director of the Bell Museum of Natural History in Minnesota. Walsh began her museum career at The Field Museum in Chicago. She holds a masters in evolutionary biology from the University of Chicago and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Earlham College, where she received a bachelor’s in biology.

Her personal interests include spending time with her family and cheering on her three children in their endeavors, working to improve her Spanish, and enjoying Colorado’s great outdoors.
