Read MoreThe Denver Fringe Festival is an innovative, annual performing arts festival that takes place every June in the RiNo/Five Points area. We are an open-application festival designed to cultivate all genres of performance arts and to attract diverse artistic voices and bold, progressive artistry. Our guiding principle is “arts for all.”
The Tattered Cover offered in-kind sponsorship for the 2021 Denver Fringe Festival by providing a free story hour for kids at our KidsFringe as well as 100 folding chairs which were used by audiences throughout the festival. The Tattered Cover was able to engage with families in the community; we provided free programming to the community and saved money otherwise spent on chair rental.
Financial and in-kind sponsorship makes it possible for the Denver Fringe to provide performance venues, advance ticketing, and promotion of the festival. This allows us to give 70 percent of net ticket sales back to the performers. It also allows us to keep ticket prices low so that we can make high-quality performing arts accessible to all.
We remove the barriers to entry so that more artists can get new work in front of audiences and we keep ticket prices low so more people can experience live performing arts. Some 200 performers, writers, designers, directors, stage managers and technicians participated in the 2021 Denver Fringe. All participating artists received a payout of 70 percent of their net ticket sales.
I’m hoping that through CBCA we can build our network of sponsors and volunteers as well as raise awareness about this new cultural asset for Denver.
Whether you are a nonprofit cultural organization or business member, we want to hear your art and business partnership stories. Please fill out one of the questionnaires below if you would like us to promote the work you are doing in the community at the intersection of arts and business. We will be sharing these stories on an ongoing basis in this member newsletter and/or on CBCA social media channels.
