What Colorado Artists Need to Know About A-Corps
SB26-133 Colorado Artist Companies bill signing at Sie FilmCenter
Colorado recently made history for artists and creative enterprises. SB26-133: Colorado Artist Companies was passed during the 2026 legislative session and signed into law by Governor Polis at the Sie FilmCenter in June. This was a huge advocacy victory for artists across Colorado and the country. Now what?! What exactly is an Artist Corporation or A-Corp? What will it do? What won’t it do? What’s next?
Join Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) and our Colorado Attorneys for the Arts (CAFTA) program on Wednesday, September 2nd from 12:00 – 1:00 pm for a virtual info session to learn more about A-Corps and to ask your questions. This webinar will dig into how this legislation came to be in Colorado, what’s included in the statute, and the legal context for this new business entity. There will also be time for questions as we discuss what’s next for Colorado’s creative sector.
This webinar will be led by Meredith Badler, Deputy Director at CBCA, and Dave Ratner, Managing Partner at Creative Law Network.
