About The Weir

A woman arrives at a remote country pub in Ireland and is entertained by the local bachelors who drink there. As the men compete to impress her with ghostly tales, she reveals a startling story of her own.

The Weir is a modern masterpiece from one of Ireland’s most acclaimed playwrights, blending haunting storytelling with tender Irish camaraderie. The play reminds us that empathy and friendship grow out of the myths and stories that bind us.

About BETC

Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company or BETC (or “Betsy” in honor of their founders’ first theatre teacher) has produced well-crafted, compelling theatre in service to the Colorado cultural community for 20 years. BETC delivers performances in Denver in addition to their longstanding tradition of shows in Boulder. They view each show as a collaboration meant to cultivate connection, turn over mental soil, and welcome people from all walks of life to imagine, create, laugh, cry, and dive into powerful stories powerfully told.
