January 1, 2026-December 31, 2026

The intent of the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) Board Individual Engagement Plan (IEP) is to ensure that the organization thrives and grows while embracing your individual board service goals and skills.

The organization appreciates and relies on all the ways you contribute through your TIME, TALENT, TREASURE, and TIES. We envision your contribution is achieved through a combination of professional guidance, hands-on volunteering, personal giving, corporate support, program and event attendance, membership cultivation, new funding development, and advocating for CBCA’s mission and goals.

With CBCA’s new Strategic Plan launching in 2026, it will guide Board priorities while also incorporating flexibility to allow for diverse types of contributions, as the IEP recognizes that each Board Member will contribute in many valuable and varied ways.

Thank you for all your efforts and support on behalf of CBCA.

Note: Any field in the form that is marked as “required” must be filled out in order to submit the form. This does not mean that you are “required” to fulfill the goals/information you submit.

2026 Board Individual Engagement Plan (IEP) Form

PART IA: GENERAL QUESTIONS, CBCA's Strategic Plan

CBCA’s 2026-2029 Strategic Plan has three overarching goals: I) Align business model and organizational capacity to ensure sustainability, impact, and relevancy. II) Foster and expand business engagement in support of arts & culture in Colorado. III) Cultivate statewide presence through awareness, advocacy and activities for and with Colorado communities.
With these goals in mind, what considerations, ideas and/or questions do you have?
How do you intend to support these goals as a Board Member? As you consider establishing your 2026 IEP goals, what are your top priorities?
Are there particular interests, skills or specialized expertise you can contribute that align with the goals of the strategic plan? Are there particular areas you want to learn more about to expand your own professional development?

PART IB: GENERAL QUESTIONS

What resources and/or knowledge do you need to achieve your goals as a Board Member and to have a meaningful Board experience?
What do you like best about serving on the Board (for newly elected Board Members, what are you most excited about serving on the Board)?
What is something you would like to see changed or improved upon (for newly elected Board Members, do you have any concerns or questions at this time)?
Is there anything you would like to add?

PART II: TIME/TALENT

CBCA values the time you spend volunteering as a Board and Committee Member, as well as the talent and expertise you bring to this role. Please share how you would like to engage your time and talent as a CBCA Board Member in this section.
In 2026, CBCA Board members will attend and participate in 6 Board meetings and one full day retreat (see 2026 board schedule). The majority of meetings will be hosted virtually over Zoom, with two in-person/hybrid meetings held in January and May, and a Fall in-person retreat in October (although these dates may shift). From time to time, a conflict may arise and you are not able to attend. We ask that you prioritize these meetings in your schedule. If you must miss a meeting due to an emergency or unforeseen conflict, we ask that you notify the board chair and executive director. Do you foresee any challenges with attending and participating in Board meetings and/or the retreat?

PART III: TREASURE (Give & Get)

CBCA relies on the generosity and financial contributions of its Board Members to sustain programmatic and operational functions. The treasure you contribute may include individual donations, corporate sponsorships, membership, and table/ticket purchases.
CBCA membership is a Board requirement. Please confirm that you, as an individual, or your company is a current CBCA Member in good standing. Please specify at what level below, and if you are not sure what level membership you are, you can ask the CBCA staff or look up CBCA’s membership levels at cbca.org/membership. Please list the membership level as a dollar amount (Example: "$1,890")

Give: Personal Contributions

The Board has a collective stretch goal to contribute $25,000 through individual Board gifts to CBCA in 2026. Although Board Members are not required to meet a personal give/get, we encourage Board members to make a donation in support of the organization so that we can achieve 100% Board giving. As you consider a personal donation amount, we hope you will put CBCA in your top philanthropic endeavors and make a personal gift at a level that is meaningful to you. Please share your personal goal for giving below. (Please provide an estimated annual personal gift vs. TBD; we appreciate you including a specific personal giving goal toward the overall Board giving goal, although we understand personal circumstances and ability to give can change). Example: "$1,000"
