Financial Basics for Creatives, Part 1

If you are working in the creative industries and running your arts business, you’re dealing with money! All artists and creative professionals should have a basic understanding of how to track, report and manage their business finances. This presentation will cover the basics of the key accounting cycles including sales and expense cycles as well as the foundations of financial reporting, including balance sheet and income statement.

This workshop will be led by Rebecca Kelley with Plante Moran. Rebecca is a Partner on the Plante Moran Risk Accounting and Advisory Team. As the leader of the recurring accounting solutions team, she provides outsourced accounting and finance solutions to clients, giving them the key information they need to make timely business decisions. She has expertise in a variety of accounting processes, including accounts payable and receivables, month-end processes, procedures, and review,  compilations, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and analysis. Rebecca spends most of her time with her husband and two young daughters. Outside of accounting, she loves to cook, bake, and travel.
